EEA/EU Family Visa

This visa is for non-EU family members of EEA/EU and Swiss nationals who are traveling together or joining their family member already in Portugal. Eligible applicants benefit from a simplified document submission process and visa fee exemption, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligible Family Members

  • Spouse or registered partner
  • Parents (if the child is under 18 or an elderly dependent parent)
  • Children under 21 or financially dependent adult children
  • Dependent direct relatives in the ascending line (e.g., elderly parents)

Key Considerations

  • If you are not traveling together with the EEA/EU national or joining them inside Portugal, you must apply for a standard tourist visa instead.
